While most people believe that you have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on car cleaning supplies, and dedicate hours to cleaning your car to keep it looking and smelling good, this is simply not true, in a matter of minutes you could have your car feeling refreshed without having to empty the bank account. In this post I will show you the tools, cleaners and needed to keep your car feeling refreshed.
While big companies use tools that cost hundreds of dollars or even thousands, for the average person this is not needed. Starting of at number one is your tools.

Tools
When it comes to tools you can use a variety ranging from $50 to over $500, but I like to keep the costs down as much as possible when I can, without sacrificing quality in my service. One tool I find very useful when it comes to cleaning carpets, or even fabric seats is a drill, and what I like to call a toilet bowl brush which you can get on Amazon for as low as $10. This allows you to lift the dirt to the surface in order to easily vacuum them away (note this is especially useful with sand). If you really want to keep the costs down, go to your local dollar store and buy a toilet bowl brush and cut the bottom of it off, the end is small enough to be able to fit in a drill.
The second best tool is a interior brush, this is great for removing old food, and stuck in gunk from tight spaces. You are able to buy proper interior car detailing brushes but when you are trying to give your car a quick refresher a new paint brush or even makeup brush will do the job. For really small spaces try using Q-Tips, these are perfect for small dials and even getting inside the air vent if needed.
Next is the cleaners you use within the car;
Cleaners & Chemicals
As much as I trust Maguaris products with all my detailing jobs, I know that for the average person spending $20 on their Quik Interior Detailer is not necessary. When detailing a customers car the first thing I start with is Dawn Dish Soap and some warm water in a spray bottle. Dawn Dish Soap is amazing for removing dirt and oils off of any surface whether it be leather, plastic or carbon fiber. Dawn Dish Soap and warm water is non abrasive meaning it will not strip the materials of their protectant, it will leave it looking clean and smelling good. Please remember that leather is not supposed to be shiny, meaning if your steering wheel is shiny it is hand oils.
